Hey, thanks for clicking through to see my pretty poinsettias card for the maiden voyage of the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog! The challenge runs all month long, so you have lots of time to enter. You can add up to five entries & cross-posting with other challenges is cool. Break your holiday supplies out of storage and get making!

Our theme is “anything goes,” and today I have a lovely one layer card to show you.

I send a lot of cards to Canada at Christmastime, so I need to keep embellishments and layers to a minimum for them to get to the destinations safely. This little gem features a stamped design with just the right amount of sparkle to add some holiday cheer!

As silly as it sounds, my favorite part of the Yuletide Holiday Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp is the tiny filler images. I started out with the poinsettias, stamping them in Red Royal on a 4 1/4-inch x 5 1/2-inch piece of white cardstock.

Then, I added some pine branches along the edge in Pine.

Next, I continued to add leaves using Forever Green to fill in the left side of the card.

To fill in all the in-between spaces, I used the berries and holly leaf images with Strawberry and Bamboo inks.

Once the ink was dry, I ran the cardstock through my die cutting machine. I used a Wonky Stitched frame die from My Favorite Things to clean up the edges. I chose that particular die because it reminded me of the way garland drapes around a tree.

The sentiment is stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Clear embossing powder.

I matted the stamped panel with a 4 1/8-inch x 5 3/8-inch piece red cardstock. Then, I attached the card front to the base. And to finish up, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops in Honey Gold to those pretty poinsettias!
